Daisy cupkakes
These were from my birthday party in January-- and I liked the way they came out (also, note Care Bears cupcake liners)

My new, less ugly lamp
Once upon a time, I went to ikea and bought a paper lamp. I should mentioned that I live in DC and don't have a car, making ikea trips momentous and rare occasions. When I got home, I realized that the paper was blue, not white as I had hoped, and I kind of hated it, but I was young and poor, and it just kind of stuck around my living room, then my boyfriend inherited it, then we moved in together, then we moved, and he dropped a box on it, ripping the ugly and by now dusty and faded blue paper. So last weekend, after having the damn thing around since 2003, I made a new shade. I got some paper from Paper Source,

And managed to hot glue it into a semblance of a lamp shade. This is what it looks like off:

Somehow light comes through the blue ink, but not the orange, but I still like it a lot. Or at least a lot better.
